Galaxy A55 spotted in the wild again as its launch draws closer

0 14

It is turning out to be an interesting day for those who are looking forward to the Galaxy A55. We got an official launch date today, along with confirmation that the phone will not get as many software updates as the Galaxy S24. We also learned of the existence of a variant with 12GB of RAM, and now, the A55 has been spotted in a new set of real-life pictures.

The pictures come from what appears to be a review for the device and show its lime color variant and the Key Island design element, which raises the frame around the power and volume buttons and should allow the A55 to look a little different than the Galaxy S24.

If you look closely at the frame above the power and volume buttons in the picture below, you can see the shine that is expected from a metallic frame. The switch to a metal frame will be one of the upgrades the Galaxy A55 will bring and feels like the logical next step after Samsung’s decision to put a glass back on the Galaxy A54 last year.

The more premium design will be accompanied by upgrades such as a more powerful Exynos chip with an AMD-powered GPU and the aforementioned 12GB of RAM. The A55 will also come with Android 14 and One UI 6 out of the box. There is no word on whether it will be One UI 6.0 or 6.1, but even if it’s the latter, the A55 may not have the AI capabilities found on the Galaxy S24 lineup.

The Galaxy A55 will most likely go on sale sometime this month, and despite the improvements it will bring, it could be slightly cheaper than the Galaxy A54 in some markets.
