Samsung has already started launching its newer generation smartphone lineup. The company has launched the Galaxy A15, Galaxy A15 5G, and the Galaxy A25, and will soon announce the Galaxy S24 series. After that, the South Korean firm could launch the Galaxy A55, which will bring improved design. Now, more information has been revealed about its Exynos processor.

The Exynos 1480 processor is expected to be inside the Galaxy A55, and it looks like it offers better multi-core performance compared to the Galaxy A54’s Exynos 1380 chipset. The Exynos 1480 has been spotted in Geekbench’s database. It scored 1,180 points in the single-core CPU performance test and 3,536 points in the multi-core CPU performance test. In comparison, the Galaxy A54 scored 1,108 points and 2,797 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

The phone uses the S5E8845 chipset, which, according to previous reports, is the Exynos 1480. The Exynos 1480 has four high-performance CPU cores clocked at 2.75GHz and four power-efficient CPU cores clocked at 2.05GHz. It features the RDNA2-based Xclipse 530 GPU, which is said to be much more powerful than the Mali GPUs used in previous Exynos chips. It isn’t clear if this mid-tier GPU supports raytracing for games.

The images of the Galaxy A55 were leaked a few days ago. Apparently, the phone features a metal frame, a first for Galaxy A series phones. It also features thinner bezels than the Galaxy A54. The phone has three rear-facing cameras, featuring a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The phone will most likely feature stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint reader, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
