Galaxy Buds 3 Pro case battery certification leaves important question unanswered

0 14

We revealed in an exclusive report late last year that Samsung would launch a successor to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in 2024. Recently, we learned that Samsung is also working on a sequel to the non-Pro Galaxy Buds 2.

Both the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are expected to launch this year. As the weeks and months go by, we are likely to see a lot of information about the new wireless earbuds appear online before their official unveiling.

Some of that information will come through the certifications Samsung will need to start selling the Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro on the market, but unfortunately, the recent certification for the battery that will power the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro charging case doesn’t reveal anything useful.

The battery was initially certified a few days ago, but the Safety Korea website has now added a photo of the battery. It seems the battery is around 1 millimeter taller and wider than the battery inside the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro case, but it’s impossible to say if it’s thicker. And since the specs for the battery, which should be printed on top, are not visible either, there is no way to tell if there is an increase in capacity.

Considering the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro charging case already got a huge bump in capacity over the case for the original Galaxy Buds Pro, we won’t complain if Samsung decides not to change anything for the Buds 3 Pro and would prefer the company focus its energy on other aspects of the earbuds, such as the in-ear fit and sound quality.
