Galaxy Note 20 Phones In The US Get Camera-Boosting June Update

0 67

The Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have started receiving the June 2022 Android security patch in the US. The new update also brings some camera improvements to the two Samsung flagships. Specifically, the devices are getting improvements to the Night Portrait feature. You can now capture brighter portrait images in dark environments too.

Galaxy Note 20 series gets the promised camera update in the US

Samsung introduced the improved Night Portrait on the Galaxy S22 series earlier this year. The company last month announced that it will roll out this feature, and a bunch of other Galaxy S22 camera features, to other Galaxy devices too. The Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 phones have received the update over the past few weeks. The Galaxy Note 20 series also recently started gaining the promised features. The update has now reached the US too.

Some Galaxy models also receive telephoto lens support in Portrait mode. But the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are not eligible for that. They also miss out on the Auto Framing feature that recognizes up to ten people in a shot and automatically adjusts the framing for the best output by zooming in or out.

Nonetheless, if you’re using either the Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in the US, you should be getting Night Portrait improvements soon. As said earlier, this update comes with the June security patch. The latest SMR (Security Maintenance Release) fixes over 70 vulnerabilities from Samsung and Google. These include a handful of critical fixes as well.

This update is available to both carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the Galaxy Note 20 duo in the US. The OTA (over the air) rollout comes with firmware versions N98*USQU2FVEB and N98*U1UEU2FVEB for the two variants, respectively. The June SMR for the Galaxy Note 20 series should soon roll out in international markets too.

More Galaxy smartphones will receive camera improvements

Along with the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung has also promised to seed some Galaxy S22 camera features to the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy Note 10 phones. Of course, some of these models will miss out on certain features due to compatibility issues. But the Korean firm has something in store for all of them. The rollout of these camera-improving updates for the remaining devices should begin in the coming weeks. We will keep you posted.
