Galaxy S23 users complain about scrolling lag

0 45

Samsung‘s Galaxy S23 series flagships debuted last month to strong word of mouth from reviewers. But now that the phones have reached a substantial number of consumers globally, some minor performance glitches are coming to the fore. Over the past couple of weeks or so, several users have reported problems with the S Pen, Wi-Fi connectivity, and camera. Some users have also noticed jittery scrolling animations or scrolling lag.

A Reddit thread created last month has a bunch of Galaxy S23 users reporting laggy scrolls on various third-party apps. The original post shows a screen recording of the Reddit app with visible scrolling lag. However, other users were quick to point out that the Reddit app itself has problems. It isn’t the best way to determine scrolling issues on the Galaxy S23 series. The original poster later explained that Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and many other apps also exhibit similar jittery animations when scrolling.

Most people on the said Reddit threat say their Galaxy S23 doesn’t have any such problems. But it still doesn’t appear to be a one-off issue. The majority of affected users started noticing the lag after the February update, which was the first software release for the new Samsung flagships. The company has already rolled out the March update but it doesn’t seem to fix the issue. It will likely take care of the issue with a future update. Meanwhile, if you’re facing scrolling problems with a specific app, you could try clearing the cache for the app and rebooting your phone.

Samsung is readying a major update for the Galaxy S23 series

It isn’t uncommon for new smartphones to have a few performance issues in their early days. The Google Pixel 7 Pro showed similar jittery scrolling animations shortly after launch. The company fixed the problem with an update. You can expect Samsung to patch this scrolling issue with the Galaxy S23 series with an update in the coming weeks. The Korean firm is reportedly already working on a major software release for the latest flagships.

Among other things, the update is said to improve the camera performance. By the looks of it, Samsung will be rolling out fixes for all known bugs and issues with the Galaxy S23 trio. The update is expected to arrive later this month. Since the devices have already received the March security patch, it could come bundled with the April release. We will let you know as soon as the rollout begins.
