Galaxy S24 teardown video shows how easy it is to repair

Over the past few years, Samsung has worked on improving its smartphones in several ways, including display and cameras, software features and smoothness, as well as build quality and repairability. The Galaxy S24 Ultra achieves a near-perfect repairability score, and it looks like the base Galaxy S24 model is just as easy to repair.
A new teardown video by PBKReviews featuring the base Galaxy S24 model has surfaced online. It shows everything inside the Galaxy S24 and the steps you’ll have to take if you ever choose to repair the Galaxy S24 on your own.
Another well constructed Galaxy flagship
The Galaxy S24 uses an adhesive pouch with a pull tab for its 4,000mAh battery, making it relatively easy to replace. Gone are the days of having to use a heat gun to separate the battery from the internal frame.
This new teardown video also offers a closer look at the vapor chamber that cools down the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 chip (market-dependent). And indeed, this cooling element is larger than the Galaxy S23’s vapor chamber.
Samsung uses very little adhesive to construct the Galaxy S24. The back panel is held in place with glue, as you might expect, but most internal components are locked in place with screws.
These characteristics give the Galaxy S24 a near-perfect repairability score of 9/10, according to PBKReview’s scoring system. The phone gets perfect 2/2 scores in categories including parts availability, battery replacement, and miscellaneous parts replacement. The Galaxy S24 got a 1.5/2 in the internal design and screen replacement categories.
The Samsung Self-Repair Program, through which the company offers replacement parts and tools for numerous devices, does not yet support the Galaxy S24 series. However, Samsung recently added more foldable phones, TVs, soundbars, and other devices to the program, and it shouldn’t take long for the Galaxy S24 lineup to join the list.
