Galaxy S24’s first software update live in more countries

0 29

Samsung is expanding the availability of the first software update for the Galaxy S24 series this week, following the update’s debut in South Korea a few days back.

The update is rolling out in European countries with firmware version S92xBXXU1AXB5 and a download size of 746.5MB. It should arrive in many more markets over the coming days. This update is an important one, as it addresses some of the issues customers had with the out-of-the-box experience.

Samsung has fixed a major complaint about the new displays on the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra: the vividness of on-screen content, or lack thereof. Samsung phones allow the user to switch between natural and vivid display colors, but out of the box, the vivid setting on the Galaxy S24 lineup is as dull as the natural setting.

After the update, Galaxy S24 users can go into the display settings and choose how vibrant they want the display to be by adjusting the new “Vividness” option that has been added for the vivid display profile.

Samsung has also made numerous improvements to the camera experience. Image quality when capturing scenes with a bright light source behind the subject is now better, and exposure when shooting indoors has been improved. Pictures shot in Night mode now have better white balance and saturation, and Food mode pictures look more enticing thanks to boosted colors.

Some improvements are exclusive to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, such as increased text clarity at high zoom levels and clearer videos from the rear-facing cameras. Samsung has also enhanced the sharpness and details in photos of human subjects taken on the Ultra model.

To download the update on your Galaxy S24 series phone, open the Settings app, select Software update, and tap Download and install. Alternatively, check out our firmware library to download the latest firmware for your model and country and install it on the phone manually using a Windows PC.
