Samsung is trying to build up more hype ahead of Galaxy Unpacked. The marketing machine appears to be running at full throttle, and the company has just released another “Join the flip side” video ad on YouTube. It has a different tone than the first ad Samsung published last week, and it once again confirms the date of the event.

If the first “Join the flip side” ad was a 2-minute film about a group of friends being haunted by the Galaxy Z Flip’s attractive image, the new ad comes in as a shorter 19-second video. In it, Samsung pushes the Corporate Memphis design language to the next level by turning the flat characters distinctive of the art style into 3D avatars. These characters pop into the frame through small windows in the Galaxy Z Flip’s foldable display.

Samsung’s been using the so-called Corporate Memphis art style throughout its marketing material, webpages, and One UI elements for a few years now, and the company doesn’t seem to plan to stop anytime soon. Of all the big mobile brands, Samsung appears to have grown the fondest of the Corporate Memphis art style. And through this ad, Samsung gave the flat geometric characters another dimension — literally.

Join the flip side and win a Samsung foldable phone

If Samsung’s “Join the flip side” message is getting through to you, and if you’re ready to get a new (or your first) foldable phone, we should remind you that you can win one for free. SamMobile is giving away one Galaxy Z Flip 5 and one Galaxy Z Fold 5. Here you can read more about how you can participate in this giveaway.

You can also earn $50 in Samsung Credit if you pre-register for one of the upcoming Samsung devices and buy them once they become available at Galaxy Unpacked.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Tab S9 series, and the Galaxy Watch 6 on July 26. The event will take place in Seoul, but anyone can watch the live presentation online.
