Galaxy Z Fold 4 Camera Layout May Remain Unchanged From Fold 3

0 82

Contrary to what leaked renders have suggested, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 may not get a reworked rear camera layout. Leaker @Mr_TechTalkTV claims that the upcoming Samsung foldable will largely keep its predecessor’s camera design. In their own words, “it will almost exactly look like the one on the Z Fold 3.”

If you check out the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s rear camera setup, you’ll find all three sensors and the LED flash unit aligned vertically and housed within the same bump. Leaked renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, on the other hand, showed the 2022 model featuring a different camera layout on the back. The sensors and the flash unit are still aligned vertically, but there’s no camera bump. Instead, each sensor protrudes out of the back panel individually.

Samsung has been increasingly using this camera design on its phones lately. Most notably on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. And it wouldn’t have been a bad thing if the Galaxy Z Fold 4 also featured a similar layout. But not to be.

The CAD renders came courtesy of reliable leaker Steve H. McFly, aka OnLeaks, who has accurately leaked several big-name smartphones over the years. But it appears McFly was wrong in this instance. Perhaps his “Damn…” tweet with an “expressionless face” emoji in response to the latest claim confirms him being wrong.

The source of the new information has also made accurate claims about multiple unreleased devices in the past. They were behind the first real-life images of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 that we saw last month. But, as with any other leak, it’s advisable to take this information with a grain of salt. With just about a month to go for the official unveiling of Samsung’s 2022 foldables, we expect to see press renders appearing in leaks soon.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is confirmed to feature a 50-megapixel camera

In addition to revealing the rear camera design of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the source also claims that the upcoming foldables will “for sure” feature a 50-megapixel camera. This is in line with earlier rumors. This will serve as the primary camera for the phone. Though unconfirmed yet, rumors are that the sensor we are talking about here could be the one found in the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+. With the official unveiling rumored for August 10, it’s not a too long wait now. We will keep you posted about any new information that emerges in the interim.
