GEFCO UK wins distribution contract with Suzuki GB

0 57

GEFCO UK has won a multi-year contract with Suzuki GB to provide distribution services for its range of two-wheelers, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and marine engines.

The contract begins in September and is part of the logistics services provider’s plans to continue growing its claimed market leadership in the UK two-wheeler sector. The project will see GEFCO manage collection and delivery of Suzuki products from its Milton Keynes-based UK headquarters to dealerships across the UK.

GEFCO will manage delivery of the units for the whole of the UK and, in the case of the marine division, Ireland as well. The network strategy will allow GEFCO to provide a more flexible service and one that enables delivery to the most remote areas of the UK, a key factor in being able to deliver for customers in the ATV and marine markets, which are often located in difficult to reach, rural, coastal, and island locations.

GEFCO will guarantee Suzuki dealerships two set delivery days per week, ensuring that dealers can rely on stable, consistent stock levels and avoid lengthy delivery times. It will apply specialist software from Tarot Analytics for route optimisation, more sustainable deliveries and delivery tracking.

Quentin Sulmont, GEFCO UK general manager, said: To be always closer to our customer, we are aiming to have two GEFCO staff working directly from Suzuki’s premises.”
