0 27

Global Xiaomi 12 units have started receiving the MIUI 14 update, it seems. That update started rolling out in China about a month ago, and now it’s reaching global units. This update is based on Android 13, by the way, and it brings an Android security update for January 2023.

Do note that the stable build of MIUI 14 is available to users who were on the beta channel at the moment. It will start rolling out to everyone else soon, though. As long as there are no major issues discovered in the coming days, the update will start rolling out to everyone.

Do note that this is a rather chunky update file we’re looking at. It weighs 4.43GB, and it comes with a version number MIUI 14.0.2.0 (TLCMIXM). This specific update, which you can see in the image below, is for the Xiaomi 12 unit, not the ‘Pro’ model.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is likely receiving it too, though, if not, it will soon. This update is rolling out over the air (OTA) for users who were on the beta channel, and will arrive to others in the same fashion.

The changelog is still a mystery

We still don’t have access to the changelog of this update, though. We don’t know anything other than the fact it carries the latest Android security update with it. The ZIP file for this update is also available, in case you want to update manually, but that’s not something we’d recommend.

Back in December, Xiaomi announced MIUI 14 for the Chinese market. Some of those features are not a part of the global build, as they are China-based, but still, that article will give you a good idea as to what to expect.

The global version of MIUI 14 will be officially announced with the global launch of the Xiaomi 13 series. That will take place next month, during the Mobile World Congress. Both the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will become official.
