Gogoro 2, Gogoro 2 Plus electric scooters

The Gogoro 2 and Gogoro 2 Plus premium electric scooters approved in India will get Gogoro’s battery-swapping technology (via ZigWheels). The company is eager to set up its battery-swapping technology in the country and has been testing its facilities. The swappable batteries reduce the turnaround time to a couple of minutes, much like filling up a vehicle’s fuel tank at a fuel pump. Usually, charging batteries can take anywhere between 30-40 mins to 3-5 hours depending upon the rate of charging.

The homologation documents of the Gogoro 2 and Gogoro 2 Plus premium electric scooters suggest that the EVs will boast 85km and 94km of IDC-certified range. The Gogoro 2 gets a higher power rating on its motor at 7.2kW as compared to Gogoro 2 Plus’s 6.4kW. The Gogoro 2 and Gogoro 2 Plus have a gross weight of 273kg according to the leaked homologation documents. That said, the company has not yet disclosed the official specifications of the electric scooters and the numbers slightly vary when compared to existing data on the electric scooters.

Both Gogoro electric scooters are expected to get a conventional set of switchgear and a negative LCD digital display for the driver’s instrumentation. The scooter could also get ABS for its braking system as it is already available in the international variant. Other modern features such as LED lighting is also expected.

There is no word on the expected pricing of the electric scooter.
