The Google Search app on Android is bringing (via 9To5Google) a new widget for stocks called Finance Watchlist. This new widget joins a bunch of new widgets that Google is bringing to Android smartphones and tablets. The new widgets include At A Glance, Finance Watchlist, Search Bar, Sound Search, and Weather (two widgets exclusive to Pixel devices).

The Finance Watchlist widget can display information about crypto, indexes, and stocks. All the data displayed in this widget is sourced from Google Finance. Since Google Finance doesn’t have a dedicated Android app, Google is using its Search app to offer finance-related information. The widget displays one stock at the top with a graph and numbers, while other stocks in your list only display current rates and percentage change compared to the previous day. You can use it on your Samsung phone or tablet.

The customization page can be used to select Featured Investment. You can also pick the top mover stock that has showcased the biggest gain or loss. You can also sort your stocks portfolio or watchlist by name, symbol, and value (ascending/descending). Dynamic color theming is used across the Finance Watchlist widget. There is also a refresh button to fetch the latest information.

The Google Search app’s version 14.22.12.29 has this new widget, and you can install it on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet to use the Finance Watchlist widget. The widget is foldable and tablet-friendly, but it is buggy right now and can be removed with a server-side update.
