Google has continued to improve its smart home platform and its Wi-Fi routers. Last year, Google improved the Google Home app and launched a new mesh Wi-Fi router. Now, Google is making it easier to use and control devices connected to its Wi-Fi router.

The Google Home app now has a search bar that you can use to find devices that are connected to your Nest Wi-Fi network. This feature addition, which 9To5Google spotted, lets you search connected devices and see their real-time network usage. Interestingly, it can list the devices currently connected to the network and offline devices.

This new search functionality is live on Google Home’s app version 3.9. Understandably, the iOS version of the Google Home app doesn’t have this feature yet, but we expect it to be available in the next few days after a new update. This feature should be handy for those with many devices connected to the Wi-Fi router. For example, some of you might have a lot of smart home devices in addition to laptops, PCs, smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs.

While the Google Home app is incredibly feature-rich, it seems better to have a separate app for Google’s Wi-Fi network. It would make managing devices easier compared to the Google Home app, which is also a hub for managing other smart home devices that are compatible with Google’s smart home platform.

Speaking of Google Home-compatible devices, you can control them directly from the Quick Panel on Samsung smartphones and devices. The latest version of One UI is One UI 6, and it brings several new features and design changes. You can view them all from our in-depth One UI 6.0 video below.
