Google Pixel 7 vs OnePlus 10T: Design

Both of these phones come with glass backs, but their frames are different. The Pixel 7’s is made out of metal (aluminum), while the OnePlus 10T has a plastic frame. That’s not something you’ll notice in day-to-day usage, not at all, but it’s worth noting. The Pixel 7 is considerably smaller than the OnePlus 10T. It has a smaller display, and it’s shorter, narrower, and almost equally thick. It’s also slightly lighter at 197 grams, compared to 204 grams.

Both phones have a centered display camera hole, and flat displays. Their bezels are quite thin, but not uniform. The Pixel 7 has slightly sharper corners, and the backs of these two phones do look considerably different. The Pixel 7 includes a camera visor there, which is covered by aluminum, and pours over from the phone’s frame. That camera visor is quite large, and goes from one side to the other. The OnePlus 10T features a camera island on the back, in the top-left corner, and it also offers an interesting design, as it seems like it’s pouring over to the side of the phone.

The Pixel 7 is easier to use with one hand, mainly due to its size. Both phones are quite slippery, and chances are most of you will place a case on them. Both devices do look and feel quite premium, and quite frankly if you didn’t know that the OnePlus 10T’s frame is made out of plastic, you’d never notice it simply by using the phone. Google and OnePlus did a great job design-wise, it’s only a matter of preference. Also, do note that the Pixel 7 does offer an official IP68 rating, while the OnePlus 10T does not.

Google Pixel 7 vs OnePlus 10T: Display

The Google Pixel 7 includes a 6.3-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display. That panel is flat, and this is a 90Hz display we’re looking at. It supports HDR10+ content, and it gets quite bright at 1,400 nits of peak brightness. The Pixel 7’s display is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus, and this is a 20:9 display aspect ratio that we’re looking at. A hole punch is included, and it’s centered at the top.

The OnePlus 10T, on the flip side, sports a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2412 x 1080) Fluid AMOLED display, which is flat. This panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and can project up to 1 billion colors. It does get quite bright outdoors, almost as bright as the Pixel 7, but not quite. The Gorilla Glass 5 protects this panel, and we’re looking at a 20:9 display aspect ratio here. There is a display camera hole included here as well, in basically the same place as on the Pixel 7.

Both of these displays are great. They offer vivid colors, good viewing angles, and those deep blacks that OLED displays usually deliver. The thing is, the OnePlus 10T offers a higher refresh rate, while the Pixel 7 has better display protection, and it gets slightly brighter. The sheer display size will also play a role in your decision, so… it’s all a matter of preference. Both panels are really good, so you can’t go wrong.

Google Pixel 7 vs OnePlus 10T: Performance

Both of these phones are quite powerful, but do come with different performance-related internals. The Pixel 7 is fueled by Google’s very own Tensor G2 processor. The phone also packs in 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The OnePlus 10T, on the other hand, is fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. That processor is backed by up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 flash storage.

Is the performance any good, though? Well, yes, it’s excellent, actually. Both phones shine in regular, day-to-day tasks. They can multitask really fast, they’re great for multimedia consumption, they open apps quickly, and so on. The differences do become more notable when you fire up demanding games, though. The Pixel 7 is not really a device for gaming. It can handle pretty much anything out there, but if you throw something truly demanding at it, it’ll struggle a bit. Genshin Impact ran fine, but we had to mess with the settings, as the game stuttered at the highest options. The phone also got a bit too warm for our liking.

The OnePlus 10T, on the other hand, didn’t have any problems handling even the most demanding titles. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is actually catered towards gaming, so that obviously has something to do with it. The phone didn’t get as warm when playing the most demanding games, not at all. So, the OnePlus 10T may be a better option for demanding games, but in general, both do offer great performance.

Google Pixel 7 vs OnePlus 10T: Battery

The Pixel 7 features a 4,355mAh battery on the inside, while the OnePlus 10T has a 4,800mAh unit. The two phones do have different display refresh rates, and screen sizes, so this battery capacity difference is expected. Is the battery life any good, though? Well, yes, it is, actually, on both phones. The Pixel 7 offers really good battery life, while the OnePlus 10T is in a league of its own.

With the Pixel 7, we’ve usually managed to get around 7-8 hours of screen-on-time. It all depends on the day. Considering how compact the phone is, those are really good numbers. The OnePlus 10T is a completely different story, though. It managed to push past the 10-hour screen-on-time mark on a number of occasions. Do note that we do not really play a lot of games. Your mileage may vary based on your usage and location (signal), of course.

The Pixel 7 offers support for 21W wired, and 21W wireless charging, in addition to reverse wireless charging. The OnePlus 10T, on the flip side, supports 150W (125W in the US) wired charging. It does not offer wireless charging, or reverse wireless charging. The Pixel 7 does not include a charger in the box, while the OnePlus 10T does.

Google Pixel 7 vs OnePlus 10T: Cameras

The Google Pixel 7 features a 50-megapixel main camera, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit. The OnePlus 10T includes a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The images these two phones provide are quite different, actually. The OnePlus 10T got a lot better in that regard since launch, thanks to updates. The Pixel 7 was great from the get-go.

google pixel 7 AM AH 08 1

The images from the main camera are really good on both phones. The Pixel 7 does have an edge in low light conditions, and high dynamic range situations. It simply shines in such scenarios. It’s a great and reliable camera in basically all conditions. It gives that contrasty look to images that people seem to love. The OnePlus 10T does well in all scenarios, but it’s simply not as good as what the Pixel 7 has to offer. We’ve experienced some focusing issues at first, but one of the updates fixed those. The OnePlus 10T is now a really decent camera smartphone, at least when it comes to its main camera.

The ultrawide camera performance is better on the Pixel 7. The colors are in line with the main camera, which is something we can’t really say for the OnePlus 10T. The images also tend to look better overall, as they turn out sharper, with more detail, that goes for low light too. The OnePlus 10T does have a wider field of view on that camera, though.

The last camera on the OnePlus 10T is a 2-megapixel macro shooter, and it’s really not worth using. Only if you have perfect lighting, this camera can be useful, otherwise, chances are you’ll get a muddy result, mainly due to its resolution. OEMs should avoid using 2-megapixel macro cameras, and simply utilize ultrawide units for macro purposes.

Audio

Both of these phones utilize two sets of speakers. Those speakers do provide a really nice sound, and they’re well-balanced. They’re not the best speakers we’ve heard on phones, but they’re more than good enough for the vast majority of people.

These two devices do not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Not many flagship-grade phones do these days. You can always utilize a Type-C port that is included on both phones, if you need a wired connection. If not, there’s always Bluetooth 5.2, as it’s included on both smartphones.
