Google Pixel users facing battery drainage, network issues after installing June update

0 47

Google added several new features on Pixel phones with its latest June 2023 Feature Drop update. These features included cinematic wallpapers, improvements to its Recorder app and emoji wallpapers among others. However, the latest Pixel update has reportedly introduced unwanted battery drain and overheating issues. According to a report by AndroidPolice, several Pixel owners took to Reddit to report excessive battery drainage and mobile network connectivity issues that they faced on their phones after installing the June update.

How the latest Pixel update is affecting users
Some users even reported battery drainage issues where they have to charge their phones twice daily to last a day. Google’s Pixel 6 and 7 series smartphones come powered by the Tensor chipsets which are relatively less power efficient than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoCs. These bugs cause unwanted battery drainage making the matter worse for Pixel users. Users have also complained of overheating issues with their Pixel phones.

Pixel users have also complained that the latest June update is also causing sudden and frequent signal drops on their smartphones. However, users have a temporary workaround to keep such problems in check. The report has recommended users restart their phones at least once daily to resolve the connectivity issues temporarily. Google is yet to acknowledge the issue.

As per the report, the battery drain and overheating issues with the June 2023 update didn’t seem to be widespread like the previous bugs. If this issue is being caused by the June update, users have to wait for Google to roll out a server-side patch to fix the issue.
