Google System Updates For August Improves AutoFill, Pay & More

0 56

Google has published the changelog for the August 2022 Google System updates. The latest round of system updates for Android devices brings improvements to the Play-as-you-download feature. This feature allows you to start playing mobile games before the download is completed, reducing your waiting time. You can hit the install button on the Play Store and start playing the game as the download continues in the background. Google has improved this experience with the August system updates.

Optimizations to Play Store systems also make downloading and installation of apps faster and more reliable. The company is making it easier to discover the apps and games that you may like. Google Play Billing is getting some enhancements as well. Other changes to the Play Store include new features for the Play Pass and Play Points programs, improvements to Play Protect, and some un-detailed bug fixes and performance optimizations.

Elsewhere, Google has added new settings screens to System Management & Diagnostics. These screens will provide better visibility into and control over Google Play services. AutoFill is getting a new UI while users in Japan now have the option to add new eMoney cards to Google Pay for transit and in-store payments. For developers, Google has new features to support Location & Context related services in their apps. Last but not least, Android Help and GoogleHelp systems get some visual and functional improvements.

All of these changes are available to users with Google Play services version 33.22 and Google Play Store version 31.1. These updates are usually installed automatically. But you can always manually check for updates. To update the Play Store to the latest version, open the app, tap your avatar on the top right corner, select Settings, and go to the About section. You can update the app from here.

Google pushes a bunch of System updates as Android 13 starts rolling out

You may have already heard that Google has released Android 13 on the AOSP (Android Open Source Project). This means it is now on its way to millions of devices from dozens of brands. However, aside from this, the company continues to push Google System updates to Android devices. These updates don’t touch the OS side of things but make changes or improvements to various underlying systems that support the functioning of the device. Irrespective of when Android 13 arrives on your phone, Google will continue to roll out these System updates for Android devices every month.
