Gwyneth Paltrow compares Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck’s bedroom skills

In reflecting on her life and career, Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t stick to the “don’t kiss and tell” rule when it came to talking about two of her most high-profile romantic partners, Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck.

In a conversation Wednesday with “Call Her Daddy” podcast host Alexandra Cooper, the Academy Award-winning actor and Goop lifestyle entrepreneur not-so-reluctantly offered a comparison of the two men’s lovemaking skills.

Paltrow, 50, started off by stating that both of the men were “good kissers” when she dated them in the 1990s. When Cooper pressed on which of the handsome leading man was better in bed, Paltrow admitted, “That is really hard, because Brad was like the sort of major chemistry, love of your life, kind (of hookup).”

Paltrow said, “Ben was, like, technically excellent.” She quickly added: “I can’t believe my daughter, (Apple), is listening to this!”

When Paltrow was starting her career in movies in her early 20s, she met Pitt in 1994, while making the crime thriller “Seven.”

“I had seen him in ‘Thelma and Louise’ and whatever the other movies he had been in,” Paltrow said. “So obviously everyone knew he was, like, the most gorgeous movie star in America, and I got this little part in ‘Seven’ and I was so excited.”

Paltrow said “it was love at first sight” with Pitt. As the two dated for the next three years, they became known as the gorgeous, blonde couple who dazzled on Hollywood’s red carpets. Pitt proposed marriage while they were staying in Argentina, where he was making a movie, Paltrow said. But Paltrow called off the engagement, later saying that at age 24 she was too young to get married.

Paltrow next moved onto Affleck, meeting him at a dinner in 1997. This was a couple months before “Good Will Hunting,” his collaboration with friend Matt Damon, was released and transformed him and Damon into Academy Award winners and up-and-coming new stars. Paltrow and Affleck worked together on the romantic comedy, “Shakespeare in Love,” for which she received her best actress Oscar. They broke up in 1999, briefly rekindled their relationship, then split for good in 2000. Paltrow said in 2015 that they stayed friends.

During the podcast, Cooper also asked Paltrow to rate her romantic partners in the game “(Expletive), Marry, Kill.” When it came to her choice for a sex partner, Paltrow immediately said, “I think Brad.” She said she would remarry her ex-husband, Chris Martin, noting that the Coldplay frontman is the father of her two children, “who are the loves of my life. So I would do that all again.”

When the conversation got to the final category, “kill,” Paltrow demurred, saying that was too “hardcore” to answer. Still, she acknowledged that she could put Affleck to “the wayside.”

However, Paltrow said Affleck, 50, made her laugh more than Pitt, though she still said Pitt, 59, was a more romantic partner — and the better actor.

When pressed by Cooper on their professional skills, Paltrow said, “I mean they’re both so talented. I feel like Ben is a great writer and director but I guess I would probably have to say acting alone, Brad. Like, if you think of all the really different roles he’s done.” Paltrow then said: “Ben is great, too. They’re both great.”

Cooper remarked: “I mean you’ve got great exes, like, you can’t really go wrong, you know what I mean.”

“And those are just the ones you know about,” Paltrow said.
