Devout horror fanatics all around the globe are unequivocally familiar with genre icon Robert Englund, especially after the 75-year-old performer gained traction for his longtime role as horror villain Freddy Krueger back in the ‘80s. Flash forward to 2023 and the infamous horror veteran is bringing us all even closer to Halloween with the news that he’ll be starring in a fresh-faced serial killer chiller.

As per Variety, Englund is attached to Natty Knocks — a Halloween-inspired horror flick which revolves around an innocent babysitter and the kids she’s watching as they attempt to survive an ordeal with a vicious serial killer. To make matters better, Englund will be joined in the movie by Halloween veteran Danielle Harris in a horror collaboration that fans will surely be excited for.

Of course, while the announcement of Englund starring in a brand-new horror extravaganza is fantastic news for fanatics everywhere, it’s worth noting that some folks will definitely be disappointed to learn that Englund won’t be appearing in a new A Nightmare on Elm Street chapter. Then again, with Englund insisting on multiple occasions that somebody else should take on the iconic role, it should hardly come as a surprise that he’s on to other ventures.

Nevertheless, witnessing Englund return to his horror roots once more is a gift that fits the order of Christmas rather than simply Halloween. And if his brilliant acting prowess in the fourth season of Stranger Things is anything to go on, then it’s obvious horror fans are in for a special treat when Natty Knocks releases on July 21.
