Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar rides a Royal Enfield Bullet on Republic Day
India celebrated its 74th Republic Day earlier this month. Republic Day brings out all kinds of acrobats in the air and even on the land. Paramilitary troopers show their skills on Royal Enfield motorcycles and that has been a tradition for decades now. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was also celebrating Republic Day when he decided to get on a Royal Enfield Bullet and take a short ride.

Manohar Lal Khattar took the Royal Enfield Bullet from one of the commanders at the parade in Haryana and rode it in the open ground. He rode the Bullet that was decorated with the Indian map. It is likely that he took the motorcycle impromptu from the acrobatics team on the spot. There was no prior plan to do it.

Most of the Indian chief ministers do not ever handle a vehicle themselves. Most ministers are carried around by a driver due to security reasons. And there is no minister who rides a motorcycle on public roads.
In the past, we have seen Uddhav Thackeray taking control of his own car when he was a Chief Minister. Apart from him, most ministers in modern-day prefer to be chauffeured around.
Royal Enfield remains the favourite of armed forces
Over the years, the Royal Enfield brand has become the flagship motorcycle of the Indian armed forces. The armed forces use the Royal Enfield motorcycles as official motorcycles and that has not changed over the years. It was a similar case with the police forces of different states in India. However, with the ageing Royal Enfield motorcycles, the police forces have started opting for new, low-maintenance rides that also impact the budget of these institutions.
For acrobatic teams, the Royal Enfield bikes remain the first choice pure because of the low-end torque it provides. Since a lot of stunts are performed with a number of people riding the motorcycle together, the low-end torque definitely helps move the vehicle forward.
All-new Bullet 350 is coming soon
Royal Enfield Bullet has not changed for years now. However, Royal Enfield has been working on an all-new product that is likely to arrive later this year. The new Royal Enfield Bullet 350 will ditch the current 346cc powertrain for the new single-cylinder, air-cooled, 349cc J-Series engine, which has already made its presence in the Meteor, Classic and Hunter. With a power output of 20.2 PS and a peak torque output of 27 Nm, this new engine feels much more refined and vibration-free compared to the current old-gen engine of the Bullet 350.
