Hero MotoCorp And Ather Energy Collaborate For Inter-operable EV Charging Network

Hero MotoCorp and Ather Energy have teamed up to create an interoperable fast-charging network for electric vehicles in India.

The collaboration marks the creation of the world’s first inter-operable fast-charging electric two-wheeler network, which will cover 100 cities across the country.

The network will boast over 1,900 fast-charging points, making it easier for people to charge their electric vehicles quickly and efficiently.

The initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of EVs by providing a seamless and efficient charging infrastructure accessible to both Hero MotoCorp’s Vida and Ather Energy’s grids. The interoperable network is set to alleviate range anxiety and significantly contribute to the growth of the EV sector in India.

Users of electric two-wheelers from both Hero MotoCorp and Ather Energy will benefit from the interoperability, allowing them to locate compatible charging stations effortlessly. Through the My Vida and Ather App, customers can discover nearby charging points, check their availability and receive navigation assistance to reach the selected station.

The interoperable network utilises the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS), India’s first-ever AC and DC combined charging connector for light electric vehicles. Recently approved by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), LECCS ensures that current and future EV customers can utilise and charge their vehicles hassle-free.
