Hertz Finance Chief Kenny Cheung to Step Down
The chief financial officer of
Hertz Global Holdings Inc.
is stepping down after leading the company through the pandemic and its post-bankruptcy reorganization.
The rental car company said Monday that
Kenny Cheung
would be leaving next month to pursue another opportunity in a different industry.
Hertz has tapped Alexandra Brooks, its chief accounting officer, to stand in as interim financial chief starting April 1 while the board searches for a permanent successor to the role.
Mr. Cheung was appointed chief financial officer in the fall of 2020 as the company was navigating a tumultuous bankruptcy process that was launched in the early months of the pandemic.
He took over the role from R. Eric Esper, who had held the position for a little over a month following
Jamere Jackson’s
departure for the C-suite of
AutoZone Inc.
Hertz emerged from bankruptcy the following year.
Mr. Cheung is expected to remain with the company until April 14 to support the closing process for its fiscal first quarter.
