The Hindustan Ambassador, an iconic Indian automotive legend, is probably one of, if not the most influential car ever sold in India. The model was the preferred choice of wheels for politicians and wealthy businessmen of the newly independent India at the time. The Ambassador was first manufactured by Hindustan Motors in 1957, and production continued until 2014. However, as emission and safety norms became more stringent, the long-running model had to be discontinued. Recently, a digital artist created a rendering of how the modern iteration of this iconic Indian motoring legend would look like in today’s time and shared it on Instagram.

The modern-day Hindustan Ambassador renderings were shared on the popular social media platform by Amol Satpute. The digital artist has given the legendary car an extremely modern flair and has created something that looks light years ahead. From the renders, we can note that the car has been elongated a lot more, and despite looking futuristic, it still boasts a ton of design cues from the old Ambassador.

The prime example of design inspiration taken from the original model can be noted at the front and rear of the car. We can observe that the artist has taken the iconic round headlight design from the old car and integrated it into the new renderings as LED DRLs. There is a difference in the placement of the lights from the original car, but the essence is pretty much present throughout the front end. In the new renderings, the artist has also added two additional DRLs at the conventional headlight position and has given it a more modern-looking grille.

Moving on to the sides, the artist has also interpreted the iconic model’s fender humps at the front and rear in an extremely futuristic manner. The original car was a four-door model, and the renderings also have four doors. However, the rear doors on this reimagined car appear to be a lot more flush, and overall design gives it an impression of a two-door vehicle. It seems to take inspiration from Batman’s Mercedes Maybach 6. The rendered car also boasts a thick strip of chrome garnish, some handsome looking multispoke alloy wheels finished in black with silver strips. The A-pillar of the car also appears to be floating, giving it an avant-garde appearance.

Coming to the rear end, as mentioned, the rendered car has borrowed design cues from the old car and boasts a modern iteration of the rear taillights from the iconic model. The overall rear end design of the new car is more squared off and gets a sizeable Ambassador lettering in the middle. It also gets a chrome strip at the rear bottom portion as well, which makes it look even more premium. Overall, the renderings are extremely beautiful and look super modern and handsome. If the company decides to bring this legend back, it could be a good design inspiration for the production model.
