How to adjust the sound settings on your Google Nest speaker

0 39

Google has some of the best smart speakers on the market. Not only due to the sound profile that they have, they do sound really good, but they are also really good at answering questions. And that’s just Google Assistant as a whole. Compared to the competitors, Assistant is much better because it does have the power of Google search behind it. So it can answer just about anything.

Today, we’re going to go over how you can adjust the volume and other sound settings on your Nest speaker, so it’s not to quite, and not super loud for alarms and timers.

How to adjust the volume on your Nest speaker

To adjust the sound on your Nest speaker, you can either tap on the right side of the top of the speaker to turn it up, or on the left side to turn it down.

You can also do this in the Google Home app pretty easily.

  • Open the Google Home app.

  • If music (or some other form of audio) is playing, just swipe your finger left or right on the card.
  • Otherwise, you’ll need to tap on the speaker that you want to change.
  • Now you can adjust the volume by sliding it around.

  • Your speaker will now remember that volume level for the next time you use it.

How to tweak the equalizer on the Google Nest speaker

Google does give you control over the Equalizer settings on the Nest speaker. So here’s how you can do that.

  • Open the Google Home app and tap on your Speaker.
  • Tap on the left icon in the upper-right corner of the app to open the equalizer settings.
  • From here, you can adjust the bass and treble levels of your speaker.

  • If you have multiple speakers in your home, you’ll need to repeat this for each speaker. It’s not a good idea to just blanket the settings across all of your speakers, since they do have different sound profiles.

How to change the Alarm and Timer volume on your Nest speaker

Finally, how do you change the volume for alarms and timers? Well, it’s quite easy actually.

  • Open the Google Home app, and select the speaker.
  • Tap on the cog icon in the right corner.

  • Now find the Device features section and tap on Audio.
  • Next, scroll down and tap on Alarms & Timers.

  • From there you can adjust the volume for alarms and timers. Now you can’t set them individually, but it can be different from playing music on your speaker.

And that’s everything you need to know about changing the volume and sound settings on your Nest speaker. Google does make it pretty easy and puts all the settings into the Google Home app. Which, if you have a Nest speaker, you should have installed anyways.
