With it enabled, your phone will pause most apps and notifications. It will let some apps through that you set as essential. It will also slow down the processor, turn off WiFi and a few other things. To help keep your battery going as long as it possibly can.

It’s not a feature that you’d want to have enabled all the time. But it can be pretty useful if you’re out and see that your phone is down to 15%. Turn on Extreme Battery Saver Mode and you can likely get a few more hours here.

How to enable Extreme Battery Saver Mode on Google Pixel 7

Head into the Settings app.

Now scroll down and find Battery, tap on that.

Next, tap on Battery Saver, it’ll be the second option down.

Next, tap on Extreme Battery Saver.

From here, you’re going to want to tap on When to use. Here you will be able to tell your phone when to use it. There’s not many options here, basically, it needs to ask every time, always use with the regular battery saver, or never use.

Next, tap on Essential Apps. This is going to allow you to whitelist some apps that can be used while in this Extreme Battery Saver Mode.
