Viewers can’t stop gushing about this rom-com’s second season, earning it a 96% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. Based on YA author Alice Oseman’s viral 2016 webcomic-turned-graphic novel of the same name, the series initially rose to popularity in Tumblr and Tapas (gaining over 52.1 million views to date). The Netflix adaption has been praised for its inclusive storylines, cast, and honest portrayal of an LGBTQ teen romance, but fans are raving about the latest volume of the book series, Heartstopper #5: A Graphic Novel, releasing on Dec. 19 and available for preorder on Amazon now.

Has ‘Heartstopper’ Season 3 Been Confirmed Yet?
The answer is yes! Netflix has officially confirmed that Heartstopper will be returning for a third season. Not only did fans cause the show to top the Twitter trending charts, with almost a million engagements during its eight-episode debut, but Season 3 will continue to adapt the rest of the books in the original comic series (including more of Charlie and Nick’s romance after their first date to the seaside and the Paris trip).
How Many ‘Heartstopper’ Books Are There?
Oseman initially crowd-funded a limited print edition of the webcomic, but the first volume of Heartstopper was published in Spring of 2019. There are five volumes of Heartstopper as of December 2023, but fans have been able to read what’s essentially in Volume 5 from April 2023 on Tapas, Webtoon and Tumblr, though it’s currently available to pre-order from Amazon.
Oseman has also shared the news on Twitter that Volume 5 would not actually be the final Heartstopper installment with a surprise sixth installment set to wrap up Nick and Charlie’s story and mark the end of the series. No release date has been announced yet for Volume 6, but it will most likely come out sometime in 2024.
