How To Take A Screenshot On The Google Pixel Watch

0 45

Some smartwatch makers have made it easy to take a screenshot. For instance, Samsung and Apple allow you to do this by pressing the two buttons on the side of the watch together, and boom, you’ve got a screenshot. For Google, it’s not that simple. It actually took me a bit to figure this one out, so once I did, I figured I should share it with you all.

Basically, you’ll need to enable developer settings on your phone, then you can take a screenshot on your watch from your phone. It’s quite a bit of work, and hopefully Google makes this easier in an update. But without further ado, here’s how you can take a screenshot on the Pixel Watch.

How to take a screenshot on Google Pixel Watch

Before we get started, you need to enable developer options on your Android smartphone, that the Pixel Watch is connected to. You can do this by doing the following steps:

  1. Head into Settings.
  2. Tap on About.
  3. Scroll down to the Build Number.
  4. Tap on Build Number 7 times.
  5. Now, if you have a screen lock, you’ll need to verify it. Then Developer Options are enabled.

Now that developer options are enabled on your phone, re-open the Pixel Watch companion app.

You’ll now see three dots in the upper-right hand corner. Tap on those three dots.

You’ll see a lot of options here, the one you want is “Take screen shot on watch”. Tap on that, and it’ll take a screenshot.

Now, you’ll see a notification from the app in the notification shade. Tap on that.

The first time you do this, you’ll be able to choose where to send the screenshot and have it default to that option every time. For example, I’ve set it to always upload to Google Photos. Then tap on “Upload”.

And you’re all set. That’s how you can take a screenshot on the Pixel Watch.
