HP has announced a new monitor at CES 2024: OMEN Transcend 32 UHD 240Hz OLED Gaming Monitor. That’s a really long name and it highlights all the important aspects of the product. However, there’s so much more to the monitor than what the name reveals. It comes with some industry-first connectivity features that are very impressive, and an amazing set of specifications. Let’s take a deeper look at what it offers.

Display panel specifications

The Omen Transcend 32 has a 31.5-inch Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) display panel from Samsung Display. It features a 4K resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, and a 0.3 millisecond (ms) response time. While HP hasn’t revealed if the monitor supports Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSync, or VESA AdaptiveSync, the company says that it comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certifications.

Drag and drop files across devices

Coming to the more interesting feature of the Omen Transcend 32, HP says that it is “the world’s first gaming monitor with independent switchable USB Ports” that allows you to “seamlessly switch between devices or utilize the incredibly smart KVM features to drag and drop files across devices.” According to the company, the Omen Transcend 32 is also the “world’s first OLED gaming monitor with 140W USB-C power delivery.

Connectivity options

Connectivity options include 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1x DisplayPort 2.1 port, 1x USB Type-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 140W USB Power Delivery (PD) output, 2x USB 3.2 Type-C ports with 15W USB PD output, and 2x USB Type-A 3.2 ports. HP has equipped the monitor with OMEN Tempest Monitor Cooling Technology to address “burn-in concerns.” Plus, you get a 3-year burn-in warranty. There’s also RGB lighting on the back panel.

Pricing and availability

HP says that it expects the OMEN Transcend 32 to be available later this year and it will announce the pricing of the monitor around the time when it is about to hit the market. The OMEN Transcend 32 competes directly with the Alienware AW3225QF, MSI MPG 271QRX, and Samsung Odyssey OLED G6, which were also announced at CES 2024.
