The Alcazar was introduced in April 2021 and it has established itself as a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment. Its spacious interiors, comfortable seating, and impressive features have resonated well with customers.

Following the recent launch of the Creta facelift in February 2024, and the upcoming Creta N Line on March 11th, the Alcazar facelift is expected to arrive by mid-2024, potentially in June.

Recent spy shots captured by automotive enthusiast Veer Saketh Peddareddypet reveal that the Alcazar facelift will borrow design elements from the new Creta, while retaining its own distinct character. While the overall silhouette appears similar, we can expect a refreshed front look following the Hyundai’s new design language along with new headlamps, daytime running lights (DRLs), and a revised grille. The facelift is also likely to come with new alloy wheels, a redesigned rear bumper, and unique taillights. Hyundai might also introduce new exterior colour options.

The interior is expected to mirror the changes seen in the Creta facelift, featuring a dual-screen layout with 10.25-inch infotainment system and digital instrument displays. The car is expected to come with features like dual-zone climate control and ventilated seats. Furthermore, the facelift is expected to boast a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhancing safety and driver confidence.

The cabin space and seating configuration are likely to remain unchanged, offering both 6-seat and 7-seat options. The current model enjoys features like a panoramic sunroof, USB chargers for all rows, individual AC vents with speed control for the third row, wireless smartphone charging for the first and second rows, a premium sound system, an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, and an air purifier with an AQI display all of which will be carried forward in the facelift. The facelift might introduce new upholstery as introduced in Creta 2024.

Unlike the design, the powertrain options for the Alcazar facelift are expected to remain the same as the current model. This includes the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 160 PS and 253 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 116 PS and 250 Nm will also continue, offered with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. While the Creta facelift offers a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, it is not expected to be carried over to the Alcazar facelift.

The refreshed Alcazar facelift is expected to replicate the success of the new Creta which garnered over 51,000 bookings within a month. The Alcazar competes with established rivals like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700. In January 2024, it ranked fifth in the list of best-selling mid-size SUVs in India. With the updates, the Alcazar facelift is likely to witness a slight price increase from its current range of Rs 16.77 lakh to Rs 21.28 lakh (ex-showroom).
