It has been reported the inaugural flight will depart from Delhi Airport, and will arrive soon to be inaugurated Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport on December 30.

The largest budget airline, IndiGo, has been expanding its presence across the country and adding new routes to its network. Recently, the airline included Uttar Pradesh’s newly built Ayodhya airport in its portfolio, marking it as the 86th domestic destination and the 118th overall destination in the 6E network.

IndiGo Inaugural From Delhi to Ayodhya

It has been reported that the inaugural flight will depart from Delhi Airport and will soon arrive at Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport on December 30 for its inauguration. Subsequently, interested flyers will be able to book direct flight tickets for the Delhi-Ayodhya route starting from January 6, 2024. This move has made the carrier the first airline to operate on this route.

To start, IndiGo will connect Ayodhya with Delhi and Ahmedabad. The service is expected to expand later; however, the airline has not yet shared any official details about it.

He mentioned that the airline is delighted to announce the launch of operations to Ayodhya, marking IndiGo’s 86th domestic destination. Malhotra also confirmed that new flights will connect Delhi-Ayodhya and Ahmedabad-Ayodhya, bringing Ayodhya onto the country’s aviation map.

Furthermore, he assured that flyers will have seamless access to the city for pilgrims and other tourists at affordable prices. Meanwhile, Ayodhya Ram Mandir is at the final stage, and is all set to open for the tourists. It will inaugurate on 24 January 2024.
