Shares of Info Edge fell 3% on Saturday to the day’s low of Rs 5,131.75 on the NSE after the Naukri.com operator informed the exchanges about Google’s decision to remove/delist the company’s mobile applications, including Naukri.com and 99acres from the Google Play Store.

The company in its filing to the exchanges said that Google’s decision comes as a surprise since this action was taken without giving due and sufficient notice to Info Edge.

It said that it is reviewing and evaluating the next course of action and working with Google in this regard to ensure that the company’s mobile applications are reinstated on the Google Play Store in a timely manner.

Meanwhile, the users who already have the company’s mobile applications downloaded on their mobile devices can continue to use the same, the filing said.

Today, stock exchanges BSE and NSE have decided to keep the market open despite the weekend holiday as part of its strategy to assess the system’s preparation in the event of an unanticipated tragedy.This is happening for the second time in the calendar year 2024 and today’s session will not be a mock trading session. The special session is part of the framework for the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Site (DRS) for stock exchanges and depositories and would involve intraday switchover to the Disaster Recovery site.

Saturday’s trading day has been divided into two sessions. The first one, which involves live trading from the primary site, started from 9:15 am till 10 am. Pre-open timings for the first session were from 9 am to 9:08 am.

The second session, which involves a switchover to the disaster recovery site, will start from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
