0 25

We have come across several instances where cops have conducted special drives to catch traffic rule violators. In some cities, cops even conduct inspection drives at night. Here we have the video of one such event from Hyderabad where an inspector conducts midnight raids in the city and seizes a Toyota Fortuner and many other two-wheelers for irregularities in documents and number plates. A video of the inspection drive has also been circulating on the internet for the last week.

The video has been shared by Real Miya Bhai on their YouTube channel. In this video, we see a senior police inspector on duty with his team in the city. The team was stopping vehicles that were plying on the road with modifications or irregular number plates. The officer and his team first stop a Toyota Fortuner SUV. The type 1 Fortuner SUV was stopped because the SUV didn’t have an HSRP. After stopping the vehicle, the officer started walking around the vehicle and found that the car had tinted windows.

The driver of the car then opened the boot so that the cops could inspect the vehicle. Once this was done, the officer asked the driver about the number plate, to which he said he got this one installed a couple of days ago. The owner, in fact, didn’t understand the reason why he was stopped in the first place. The officer then told him that the SUV didn’t have proper number plates and that is the reason why he was stopped. The driver told the officer that he’ll get the HSRP installed soon; however, the cop was not in a mood to listen.

The officer asked his team to take the vehicle to the police station. The driver told him that there were women in the vehicle and they were only out to drop his brother off somewhere. The cops replied that he’ll make arrangements to drop the occupants at their house at night but he was definitely going to take the vehicle into custody. After this, the officer stopped a Maruti Brezza for a general inspection. The car was driven by another police officer from the excise department and he let go of the vehicle. He also asked his team to inspect the occupants of an i20 physically to ensure that they were not carrying any illegal substances with them.

The video then shows the officer speaking to a couple of scooter riders. One of them didn’t have a registration plate. The owner can be heard saying that he bought the scooter four months ago and he has been using it without registration since then. The scooter was seized as well. Another Hero Splendor bike was also seized only because of irregular number plates. The main aim of this midnight inspection drive was to check the vehicles and see if anyone was drunk or not. Many people have appreciated the efforts made by the officer, while there are others who have called it a publicity stunt. Many people were questioning why the vehicles were getting seized for an irregular number plate instead of issuing a fine.
