Jacob Edgar of The Ones and Batman Audio Adventures and Jordi Perez are launching a Rocketman and Rocketgirl oneshot from Dynamite Entertainment in March 2023, spinning out of the public domain-inspired Project Superpowers universe. “After seemingly foiling a daring bank heist, Rocketman and Rocketgirl find themselves in a deep web of mystery with a case like no other. They uncover a complex conspiracy, discovering that Nazi agents are hell-bent on stealing rocket technology for themselves. This tale set in 1940s New York City is full of super-charged thrills and a classic superhero saga for all ages!”

“RocketMan and Rocket Girl gave me the perfect opportunity to write something that echoed the kind of comics I loved as a kid,” said writer Jacob Edgar. “A self-contained, action-packed superhero adventure story. At the same time, I also tried to fill the sandbox, as it were, with some characters and ideas that could potentially be played with again.”

Writer Jacob Edgar also contributes a cover himself to the issue as do Lesley “Leirix” Li and Giorgio Spalletta.

Project Superpowers is a comic book limited series published by Dynamite Entertainment that began back in 2008 by Jim Krueger and Alex Ross (who designed most of the characters), with scripts by Jim Krueger, covers by Alex Ross, and art by Doug Klauba and Stephen Sadowski for the first issue and Carlos Paul for the remainder of the series. There was a new series in 2018 with Rob Williams and Sergio Davila, followed by Project Superpowers: Fractured States with Ron Marz, Andy Lanning and Emilio Utrera and other spinoff series by the likes of Phil Hester, Warren Ellis, Joe Casey, Edgar Salazar, Mike Lilly, Colton Worley, Emiliana Pinna, Alex Segura, Jeff Parker, Joseph Cooper, JT Kril and Heubert Khan Michael including the recently published, Scarlett Sisters with Women in Red, Lady Satan and Miss Masque. The series resurrects a number of Golden Age superheroes originally published by companies including Fox Comics, Crestwood Publications, and Nedor Comics, many of whom are in the public domain, including Fighting Yank… and now Rocketman & Rocketgirl…
