Jaguar transitions exclusively to electric vehicles, ceasing production of sedans and sports cars, focusing on SUVs. ICE models to retire by June.

Jaguar is set to make significant modifications to its four-wheeler line-up this summer.

The British luxury manufacturer has planned to shift its entire focus to producing electric vehicles (EVs), going by the recent scenario of the transportation landscape across the globe.

Jaguar, which has some world-class sedans and sports cars in its portfolio, has decided to cease production of those models at the Castle Bromwich factory in Birmingham in a matter of weeks.

Following the discontinuation of the XE, XF and F-Type series, Jaguar’s line-up will solely include Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) including I-Pace, E-Pace and F-Pace which will be available throughout this year. According to Motorbeam, the existing Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) models of Jaguar will be retired by June this year.

The XE, XF, and F-Type models have been quite popular in India and other markets across the world. According to Joe Eberhardt, CEO of Jaguar North America, customers will be able to purchase these cars until the company announces a fresh line-up of EVs. It will no doubt contribute to a smooth transition.

Jaguar, however, will keep selling the gas-powered variants. It will soon launch a new line-up featuring Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). It remains unclear how long the ICE models of the company will remain available in the market. It is also expected that the company will move its production facility from the Castle Bromwich factory to a new place following the introduction of the EV portfolio.

This deliberate move is a reflection of Jaguar’s adaptability to evolving market conditions and its dedication to matching customer preferences with its offerings. The UK-based auto giant has plans to launch an array of electric vehicles from 2025, and the move marks the beginning of a new era for Jaguar.

Jaguar is slated to launch a four-seater, electric GT car in the first half of 2025. This EV will be equipped with a top-quality engine, capable of delivering a maximum power of 600 BHP. Upon its arrival in the global market, this EV is tipped to give tough competition to the Porsche Taycan. The company will also roll out a luxury SUV and a large saloon car next year and both cars will be built on the bespoke JEA platform.
