Dealing with The Flash’s downslide at the box office isn’t the already tragedy on James Gunn’s plate as the many quick changes — like dumping Superman and Wonder Woman from the ending — he and Peter Safran applied to the film have now become public knowledge. Fans of the Snyderverse, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot – and everyone who simply can’t fathom the reasoning behind The Flash’s plot decisions – were bound to hold court after the new revelations and have sentenced the new DC Films co-head…

… establishing that he is acquitted and should probably be lauded for his choices.

The discourse around the end results of the changes is destined to continue — because honestly, they didn’t really add well to The Flash’s already faulty plot. But Gunn being exposed as the reason why Cavill was missing from the film and why George Clooney ended up reminding everyone of his heavily derided turn as Batman isn’t exactly as extremely bashed as one would expect.

In fact, a big chunk of the crowd is readily willing to see the logic behind his choices.

Those still holding on to their grudge against Gunn for robbing the film of Cavill and Gadot’s concluding cameos need to remember that their recent DCEU appearances didn’t exactly alter fate.

With The Flash effectively resetting the DC Cinematic Universe — DCU everyone — it really is time to move forward. Snyderverse had its merits and Zack Snyder’s vision truly deserved the right to properly breathe, but as all the calls for restoring his dreams for DC have only led to Gunn getting the reins in his place, it is high time we put our misgivings on the back burner and wait to see if the former MCU wonder manages to fortify the shaky foundations of the rebooted DCU.
