The company launched the second generation of the GLC with a starting price of Rs 73.50 lakh for the 300 4Matic petrol variant and Rs 74.5 lakh for the 220d 4Matic diesel variant. The new GLC competes with rivals like the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60 among others in India.
With the second generation of the new Mercedes Benz GLC, the company is offering a set of brand-new LED headlights, a new grille, and a newly designed front bumper. It also gets new LED taillights and a new rear bumper as well. The SUV has also been made longer by the company and now measures 60mm more than the previous generation model. On the inside, the new GLC gets a massive 11.9-inch portrait-style touchscreen, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The dashboard trim, inspired by the Maybach S-Class, features an elegant pinstripe pattern.
As mentioned, the Mercedes Benz GLC is offered with two powertrain options in the country. The first is the GLC 300, which gets a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 258 bhp and 400Nm of torque. On the other hand, the GLC 220d comes equipped with a 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 197 bhp and 440Nm of torque. Both engines come paired with the same 9-speed automatic gearbox and Mercedes’ renowned 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. Additionally, a standard 48V mild-hybrid system, along with an integrated starter generator, offers an extra 23hp and 200Nm of torque.
