The Jonathan Majors saga shows no signs of wrapping up anytime soon. Majors began 2023 preparing to cement himself as an A-lister, having garnered rave reviews for Loki and Lovecraft County, and was soon to star in Creed III and as the MCU’s new long-term big bad Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Half a year later, and those plans are in tatters. In March, the bombshell news broke that Majors had been arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend. The actor now faces an August 3 court date to answer the allegations, which consist of “two counts of assault in the third degree, aggravated harassment, and attempted assault against a woman.”

Now, Rolling Stone has tossed some fuel into the fire with a lengthy report detailing historic abuse. The article claims to have interviewed “dozens” of people involved with Majors over the last 10 years, with them summarizing him as a “complicated, unpredictable, and sometimes violent man, who can switch from charming to cold in a flash.”

Inevitably, Majors’ attorney Dustin A. Pusch has already hit back at the article:

“Jonathan Majors vehemently denies Rolling Stone’s false allegations that he physically, verbally, or emotionally abused anyone, let alone any of his past romantic partners. These allegations are based entirely on hearsay because neither of the romantic partners referenced were willing to engage with Rolling Stone for the article—demonstrating their outright falsity.”

Pusch also underlined that Majors “denies any allegations of abuse, violence, or intimidation during his time at Yale.”

The high-profile studios involved with Majors are nervously watching on. Marvel in particular has tethered their ongoing story to Majors’ Kang, and the more bad press mounts up, the more they’ll have to alter their carefully laid plans. For now, all we can do is wait for the wheels of justice to grind on, with that August 3 court hearing likely to decide the future of his career.
