Judas Priest Plan ‘Invincible Shield’ Global Listening Party

0 14

Judas Priest, heavy metal’s tireless defenders of the faith, will come screaming for vengeance in bars all around the world next week with a global listening party for their new album, Invincible Shield. The events will take place March 7, a day before the album’s official release. To find out what time a particular bar will start blasting Priest at deafening volumes, just phone them up and pray the bartender can hear you over the stereo.

Many bars, the organizers promise, will be offering “Judas Priest–themed cocktails.” Will you have a Gin After Gin or an Electric Rye? Some of the bars even have what look like Judas Priest–themed names, like Halford in Berlin and Rocka Rolla in Brooklyn.

Daytona Beach will also host a special Judas Priest pop-up shop next week on March 9, from 3 – 5 p.m. at Atlantic Sounds. Just look for the “custom Judas Priest military combat truck” — or listen for it since the invincible shield of a vehicle will be blaring the album at eardrum-shattering volumes for the half-a-million bikers gathered for Daytona Bike Week. Harley-Davidson is also hosting a “100-biker brigade from Orlando to Daytona” at the very un-metal hour of 9 a.m. (but perhaps that still counts as “Living After Midnight”) and the Daytona International Speedway will present a special Judas Priest parade lap at noon before the Daytona 200.

The group announced the new album after their set last fall at the Power Trip festival. They’ve since teased it with the singles “Panic Attack” and “Trial by Fire.”
