Kanye’s Donda Sports Reportedly Signs Jaylen Brown

0 68

Jaylen Brown is the newest addition to Kanye West’s Donda Sports.

Brown has become the first NBA player to sign with Ye, per TMZ, following in the footsteps of Super Bowl winner Aaron Donald, who called his own signing to Donda Sports a “no-brainer.” The Boston Celtics guard and Ye evidently made things official when Yeezy attended a Warriors and Celtics game back in March, as they posed for photos together.

It was previously revealed that NFL star Antonio Brown was assuming the role of president within the organization, when AB shared with fans back in February that he had booked the “Donda Suite” for the Super Bowl. In an interview with Complex earlier this year, he spoke on what it was like to work on Donda Sports with Ye.

“We’re just excited about the Donda Sports brand, and making this thing a competitive sports brand to the athletes,” he said. “I don’t think there’s a lot of fashion lines for athletes, wearing fashionable and comfortable clothes, so with a guy like Kanye West, being able to partner with him and work with him to provide more creative, genius ideas for fashion looks for athletes in general… I’m just grateful for the opportunity here soon, to share what we’ve got with the world. And you guys are hearing it first, we got some exciting things to look forward to this year.”

With Ye’s mind on sports and fashion, and hopefully still working on Donda 2 as he signs some of the world’s best athletes to his new company, he’s been apparently more distant from one of his earlier creations in G.O.O.D. Music. In a new interview with Complex, G.O.O.D. signee 070 Shake revealed that the Ye-founded label doesn’t “exist” anymore. “To be honest, just to keep it real with you, G.O.O.D. Music is not really a thing,” she said. “Like, nobody works for G.O.O.D. Music. They don’t even exist. To be honest, I worked with Def Jam. Nobody works at G.O.O.D. Music.”

As for Brown, he will be playing in the NBA Finals against the Warriors this June, after the Celtics won Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday night against the Miami Heat. This season, he’s been averaging 23.6 PPG, with a 47.3 field-goal percentage. And even if he doesn’t take home the ring, he’ll still probably be a champion in Ye’s eyes.
