Kenny Rogers memorabilia to be auctioned in California; how you can get a piece of the late icon’s history?
Iconic Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, actor, and photographer Kenny Rogers sold more than 120 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
Rogers died in 2020 at 81, but not before leaving a large collection of items that represent his massive mark on the world.
Julien’s Auctions will hold a live three-day auction Friday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Beverly Hills auction house and online. A collection of more than 1,200 lots featuring the awards, wardrobe, equipment, and memorabilia from his recordings, live performances, and films, as well as furnishings, artwork, jewelry, household and personal items from his homes in Sandy Springs, Ga., and Nashville, Tenn., will be up for bidding.
Julien’s Auctions Executive Director Martin J. Nolan said about the auction: “We invite people to come down, see some really cool items, and take a trip down memory lane. You will definitely leave with a smile because you will see what a well-lived life Kenny Rogers had.”
Some of the items available in the auction; include Kenny Rogers’ original soloist lead sheets from the hit song “We Are the World,” which is signed by all of the members of the supergroup USA for Africa; Aa 2013 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award; Rogers’ photographs of celebrities inscribed by Michael Jackson, Lucille Ball, Elton John, Elizabeth Taylor, Clint Eastwood, and more; clothing and personal effects from The Gambler television series that includes The Gambler II Shirt and neckerchief and brown trousers, The Gambler V “Brady Hawkes” period waistcoat and Kenny and Wanda Rogers’ personalized wedding goblets, and many more personal memorabilia from his estate.
Nolan said this is a rare opportunity to get your hands on Kenny Rogers stuff, and according to Nolan, it’s a good investment: “Chances are if you own something from Kenny Rogers now you will sell it for more than you pay for it today in the years to come.”
A portion of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Music Health Alliance, whose mission is to provide access to healthcare through services that protect, direct, and connect music professionals with medical and financial situations.
