The Hollywood couple kicked off the week by entertaining an audience of pigs and ponies

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick delivered another farm fresh special, this time with a sweet rendition of Beyoncé’s hit “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

The couple shared a video on Instagram, alongside the caption: “Monday morning serenade. @beyonce #texasholdem.” Playing to an audience of farm friends, Bacon took care of the acoustics while Sedgwick provided back up vocals.

“Texas Hold ‘Em” topped Billboard’s Hot 100 chart on Monday, marking Beyoncé’s ninth time atop the chart as a solo artist and the 13th in total when including her songs with Destiny’s Child. Last week, the singer made history as the first Black woman in modern music history to top the Hot Country Songs chart, where “Texas Hold ‘Em” continues to hold the Number One spot.

The 32-time Grammy winner announced her eighth studio album, Act II, during the Super Bowl earlier this month. The LP serves as the second installment of her three-part Renaissance project, and is due March 29. “Texas Hold ‘Em,” along with sister single “16 Carriages,” represents the singer’s deepest foray into country music yet, and her shift into the genre may highlight the music of other Black women in country as well. Billboard reported last week that several other Black female country artists, including Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, and Rhiannon Giddens (who plays plays banjo and viola on “Texas Hold ‘Em”) saw boosts in their catalog consumption since the release of Beyoncé’s latest singles.

Bacon, a music fan whose tastes range from Olivia Rodrigo to death metal, previously took on another Beyoncé track, and in the summer of 2022, played “Heated” for a pair of goats. Last February, the actor and his wife shared their rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers.” Cyrus herself gave it a seal of approval, writing, “Love this” in a repost of their video.
