Kia will be entering the electric vehicle market with their new EV6. They will open the bookings for the new electric crossover on 26th May. The launch is expected to happen in June. Now, the brochure of the Kia EV6 has been leaked online.

The brochure reveals that the EV6 will be sold in India in two variants. There will be GT Line and GT Line AWD. Kia will be bringing the EV6 as a CBU or Completely Built Unit because of which it will be priced higher.

The EV6 will come with 8 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, an Anti-lock braking system, Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Multi Collision Braking, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Management, Emergency Stop Signals, front and rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

ADAS

ADAS or Advanced Driver Aids System is the new big thing in the automotive industry of India. Kia will be offering Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Avoidance, Lane Follow Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Driver Attention Warning and Adaptive Cruise control with Stop and go functionality.

Being a GT Line, there would be some sporty design elements. There are 19-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, flush door handles, LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators and light bar, rear spoiler, electric sunroof,  LED fog lamps, solar glass and 64 colour ambient lighting.

There is also a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, vegan leather-wrapped steering wheel, anti-glare rearview mirror, sporty alloy pedals, metal scuff plates, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, multiple drive modes, wireless charger, 10-way adjustable driver seat with memory function, rain-sensing wipers, smart key with push-button to start/stop etc.

GT Line AWD

The GT Line AWD adds some more equipment to the EV6. It comes with an electric-all wheel drive, powered tailgate, a heads-up display with augmented reality, motorized flush door handles and a sound system from Meridian.

Colour choices

There would be five colours to choose from. There is Yacht Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Runway Red, Snow White Pearl and Moonscape. The interior is offered only in a single colour. It is all black with black suede seats with vegan leather bolsters.

Battery size and driving range

The battery size of the Kia EV6 is 77.4 kWh. It can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes if you can find a 350 kW fast charger. Otherwise, it will take 73 minutes using a 50 kWh charger. The WLTP-rated driving range is 528 km. In the global markets, there is also a smaller 58 kWh battery pack available.

Power and torque output

The rear-wheel drive configuration comes with a single electric motor. It produces 229 Ps of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The all-wheel drive version produces 325 Ps of max power and 605 Nm of peak torque. Kia claims that EV6 can hit a ton in 3.5 seconds.
