As the cricket fever in Kolkata reaches its zenith, these special metro services promise convenience and efficiency for fans heading home after soaking in the thrilling IPL action.
Kolkata Metro has announced special midnight services on the New Garia – Dakshineswar or Blue Line ahead of the upcoming IPL match at Eden Gardens featuring the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 23.
Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer of Metro Railway, shared the plan, which includes two special Metro services after the match.
The first service will leave from Esplanade at 00:15 hrs, heading to Dakshineswar, and is expected to arrive at 00:48 hrs. The second service, also departing from Esplanade at 00:15 hrs, will go towards Kavi Subhash, with an estimated arrival time of 00:48 hrs.
To make travel easier, booking counters at Esplanade station will exclusively sell Smart Cards and Tokens during these special midnight services, as reported by The Financial Express.
Mitra also mentioned that the train towards Dakshineswar from Esplanade will stop at all stations en route, as will the train towards Kavi Subhash from Esplanade.
