Latest Galaxy Z Flip 4 Render Shows Minor Design Changes

0 63

Samsung is just a few weeks away from unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldables. We have already seen both devices in unofficial renders, while the latter has also appeared in leaked real-life images. Today, we have what is being circulated as the first official imagery of the upcoming clamshell foldable. The latest leak comes from respected leaker Evan Blass and shows us the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s lateral profile. The official-looking render highlights minor design changes that Samsung is making to this year’s clamshell model.

As you can see in the image attached below, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 doesn’t look overly different from the Galaxy Z Flip 3. But a closer look reveals that the new model gets flatter edges, a design language that Samsung also used on the Galaxy S22 series earlier this year. Perhaps the company has been gradually moving to a boxier profile with every new foldable released.

The button placement is unchanged but both volume rockers and the power key, which also doubles up as the fingerprint scanner, appear ever so slightly thicker. However, it could be just us. The two cameras on the outside also appear to protrude more from the back panel than on the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Apart from these minor differences that are apparent when looking from the side, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be identical to its predecessor from the front and the back. We are expecting a 6.7-inch foldable display on the inside, unchanged from last year. The exterior screen could be marginally wider, with a diagonal of 2.1 inches. Last year’s model featured a 1.9-inch secondary display.

Other notable upgrades include a bigger battery, faster charging, newer cameras, and a more scratch-resistant foldable display. Just about three weeks to go before the Galaxy Z Flip 4 gets official.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will get more visible design changes

The Galaxy Z Fold 4, which will accompany the clamshell foldable out of Samsung’s doors next month, will get more visible design changes. The company is making the bigger foldable shorter and wider, giving it a squarer shape. This change allows for a wider outer display, making it more usable. Samsung wants to offer a full smartphone experience on the outside.

Rumors are that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 would break cover officially on August 10. Samsung will also launch the Galaxy Watch 5 series and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro at the same event. The company may announce the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event soon.
