Latest Stardew Valley 1.6 teaser hints we can drink mayonnaise

0 24

Every day for the last week or so, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has been posting a ‘non-spoliery’ teaser from the upcoming 1.6 Stardew Valley update due on March 19. The latest of these sneak peaks, posted on March 17, has me feeling confused. And concerned.

Yes, that’s right. Players of Stardew Valley can now partake in a lovely, thirst quenching drink of… mayonnaise.

Now, I’m not sure about you but I’ve never once thought “I love this game, but do you know what would make it better? A lovely cold glass of mayonnaise”, but apparently there are some players who, for reasons I cannot fathom, are actually excited by this prospect.

With comments stating everything from “the moment we’ve been waiting for” to “does this mean I can drink Pickle Juice now too?”, I have some questions that I don’t particularly want answers for.

Prior to this Tweet appearing, players were growing concerned due to the lack of updates, prompting them to ask ConcernedApe if he’d forgotten to post, or even if he was okay. Overall, yesterday was a pretty strange day on Twitter for Stardew Valley fans.

What changed, ConcernedApe?

Back in 2021, ConcernedApe replied to a Tweet saying the following which, in light of this most recent 1.6 reveal, has me wondering what happened between then and now to get us to this point:

Well, regardless of how bizarre this latest update is, we’ve got one more sneak peak of 1.6 before it goes live at some time on March 19. Here’s the full list of teasers to date:

  • Fruit Trees will yield Saplings of the same fruit
  • Harvesting will be at the same speed in either direction
  • Larger area of effect for downward Melee attacks
  • Moving past pets will now take less time
  • Spouses will now have a seven day ‘Honeymoon Period’ in the week after the wedding
  • Jelly, Pickles, Wines and Juices will now reflect the color of their main ingredient
