Leaked renders show periscope camera, minor design changes

OnePlus 12 leaked renders

The leaked renders were shared by Smart Prix in collaboration with OnLeaks. These renders have been developed using real life images of a testing unit prototype, according to the publication. There’s a total of four images that show the OnePlus 12’s design giving us an idea on how the phone might actually look like.

The OnePlus 12 is seen in black colour with a glossy finish. At launch, the company will most likely release more colour options. There isn’t much difference in terms of design if we compare it with the OnePlus 11. The huge circular camera module is the same at the back. But there is one upgrade though which is the presence of a periscope camera on the OnePlus 12. This is quite evident with the periscope lens sitting below the rear cameras along a metal strip. The LED flash has been moved to the top-left corner of the camera module.

Up front, you get an almost bezel-less display on the OnePlus 12. One change here is that the selfie camera has been moved from the corner to the centre of the display. We can see the alert slider and power button on the right edge, and the volume rocker on the left. It’s also still curved edges on the OnePlus 12 like its predecessor.

Going by this leak, it looks like OnePlus isn’t going for any dramatic design change with its upcoming flagship. But this isn’t the final product so we could see some upgrades later.

OnePlus 12 specifications (Expected)

  • Display: OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
  • Processor: The smartphone will most likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor which is slated to debut in October this year.
  • Cameras: The triple camera setup could include a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 64MP periscope lens.
  • Battery, charging: Leaks suggest that the OnePlus 12 will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
