Lenovo’s new IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook is versatile and inexpensive

At MWC Barcelona, Lenovo has come with a bunch of new laptops. Even after announcing a slew of them at CES last month. But the one that really caught our eye was the new IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook. This is a Chromebook that starts at $340, and has some pretty decent specs.

It comes with a 14-inch screen (there’s three options for this screen, 1366×768, or 1080p, or 1080p touchscreen). It also comes with MediaTek Kompanio 520 chipset, with with the option for 4GB or 8GB of RAM. There’s also storage options of 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage.

Lenovo is offering this one in two colors, Abyss Blue and Cloud Grey. It also has a nice amount of ports. With a micro SD card slot, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port as well as a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port and a combo audio jack. The IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook will go on sale in May 2023, and will start at $340.

More ThinkPads at MWC Barcelona

Lenovo didn’t come to Barcelona with just a single Chromebook. Well, technically they did, but they also brought a bunch of new ThinkPads along with them. The ones we’ll focus on include the ThinkPad X13 Gen 4, and ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2.

The ThinkPad X13 Gen 4 sports a 13.3-inch 2.8K OLED display, with 13th gen Intel Core processors, Intel Iris Xe graphics, or you can get the AMD Ryzen 7000 series with AMD Radeon Graphics. You can also spec it up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. There’s a 41Whr battery inside that should keep it running for a good amount of time. The ThinkPad X13 Gen 4 is going to start $1,099 and will go on sale in May 2023.

Onto the ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2, it comes with a 16-inch 4K OLED display. It also has the latest generation of AMD Ryzen 7000 mobile processors, with AMD Radeon graphics. You can option in the AMD Radeon 6550M. You can spec this one up to 64GB of RAM and up to 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. It also has a 72Whr battery with rapid charge. The ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 will go on sale in August 2023, and start at $1,749.
