Lift Kit, Massive Wheels, Price Hike & Competition
The lifestyle off-roader Jimny from Maruti Suzuki has quickly become one of the most recognized SUVs in the country. Ever since its launch, people have been creating unique iterations of this SUV with a number of different types of modifications. Recently, another short video of a heavily modified Maruti Suzuki Jimny has been shared online. This particular Jimny has been given a lift kit, massive wheels and tires, and a bunch of other modifications as well.
The video of this modified Maruti Suzuki Jimny has been shared on YouTube by DGS13 on their channel. It starts off with a completely modified Jimny coming out of a parking lot. It can be noted that this particular car has been given a number of extensive modifications. The list of these modifications includes a lift kit, bigger all-terrain tires with bead lock alloy wheels, a new front grille, a light on the front, and a light bar on top as well.
India’s first Jimny convertible
Over the last few months, we have seen a number of modified Jimnys from across the country. A lot of them have been given lift kits, custom grilles, exhausts, interiors, and a few other mods. Recently, we also featured a Jimny which had its roof cut off. The car was seen parked outside a wheel and tire shop where it was getting Brabus-styled alloy wheels. This particular car’s roof was completely taken off, and it features a tan leather interior.
Maruti Suzuki prices have gone up
In other Maruti Suzuki Jimny news, the company has announced that the massive discounts which were being offered with the Jimny have been stopped. Effective from January 1, 2024, the Jimny prices have once again gone to Rs 12.74 for the base Zeta variant and Rs 15.05 lakh for the top-spec Alpha variant. For those who may not be aware, last month in December, Maruti Suzuki was offering a Rs 2 lakh discount on the Zeta variant and Rs 1 lakh discount on the Alpha variant.
However, despite the discounts, the company could not manage to boost the sales of this SUV. In the month of December 2023, Maruti Suzuki dispatched 730 units of Jimny whereas Mahindra dispatched as many as 5,793 units of Thar. The Jimny sales peaked at 3,778 units in July; however, since then, it has only been decreasing. Despite a number of advantages over the Mahindra Thar, the Jimny is still not able to beat the Thar.
Five-door Thar on the way
If things were already not looking good for the Jimny, it will get worse as Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of its five-door Thar. This new model will be launched by the middle of this year and come equipped with a set of additional doors. It will become the more practical version of the three-door Thar and will feature a number of updates over it. It will come equipped with a slightly updated exterior, interior, and will also get a number of new features, including a sunroof, a bigger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a few other features.
