You can’t cook up a win this good! FX and Hulu’s The Bear just took home the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy — and Lionel Boyce thanked workers in the restaurant industry during his speech accepting the trophy.

“I just want to say, most importantly, thank you to the entire restaurant community. We play these characters for a couple of hours a day for a couple of months out of the year,” Boyce said. “But this is y’all’s reality, the highs and the lows. So thank you for embracing us while we, you know, tell this story.”

Boyce — who stars as Marcus Brooks, The Beef’s pastry chef — also thanked show creator Chris Storer and the production crew on the show for “not only being great at what you do but also just thinking we don’t suck.”

Jeremy Allen White took home the award for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy last year and did so again this year for his role as Carmy Berzatto in the show, which follows the young chef as he runs a chaotic kitchen at a Chicago sandwich shop.

The Bear was nominated against ABC’s Abbott Elementary, HBO’s Barry, Amazon Freevee’s Jury Duty, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, and Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso.

The year the dramedy marked the second consecutive year the FX series was nominated for the award. A Rolling Stone review of the show’s second season described it as “electrifying” and commended it for “avoiding the sophomore slump.”

Last year, Abbott Elementary took home the award, while Hacks won the year before.

This year’s Golden Globe Awards ceremony, airing live on CBS, was hosted by Jo Koy and directed by Glenn Weiss. Succession and Barbie led the list for most nominations, with nine each.

The awards show also featured a new comedy category, titled Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television award. This is the first ceremony since Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge Industries took control of the awards show over the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
