Look at epic photos of earth captured using Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Samsung is trying many things to market the camera capabilities of its latest flagship smartphone. Recently, the company sent the Galaxy S24 Ultra in space to capture some epic photos of the earth. The South Korean firm made special arrangements to send the phone to space.

Galaxy S24 Ultra was sent to space to capture photos of earth
Samsung designed two carbon fiber skeletons to safely carry the Galaxy S24 Ultra to space using a balloon. After deciding on the final skeleton design, the company hooked up the phone to the frame and attached it to a balloon with hydrogen. The balloon traveled 23 miles (37km) above the earth’s surface, reaching the stratosphere. While that isn’t space, it is more than double the height commercial airlines fly.
All the rear-facing cameras of the Galaxy S24 Ultra were used to capture these images of the Earth. Capturing the images took less than a week, according to Fahim Al Mahmud Ashik, and that task was done in late January 2024. Once the images were captured, the hydrogen gas from the balloon was vented, and the phone landed back (at the speed of 8km/h) on the earth’s surface safely. The team then retrieved the Galaxy S24 Ultra from its cage.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 200MP primary rear camera with OIS. It also features a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS.
